Ouch, Bryceton!
Today we had quite the adventure....
While I was setting up the teacher appreciation breakfast this morning at Bryceton's preschool. Bryceton, Emmersyn & the 3 babysitting kids were playing on the other side of the room. Around 7:45 am I heard a loud crash & looked over to find Bryceton laying next to a table (6 x 2) that had fallen over, he was laying there like he was embarrassed that it fell. A couple minutes later he started screaming. After I walked over to him & investigated a little more, come to find out when the table fell his right hand was underneath it. The hand was purple & bruised already, the top of the hand that was against the floor also had blood dots from the rug burn he got when it hit. I wasn't able to get Bryceton to calm down or get a really look at it. So I called the after hours number for the pediatrician & he told me to bring him in & then we would also get x-rays taken.
The x-rays came back clean so no breaks thank goodness, Bryceton did bruise his hand as much as he could without breaking it though. We should be thankful since he a break in that part of the hand at his age would probably need surgery. We were informed that is was a blessing he was so young & that the table hit his hand, not his arm since it would have snapped his wrist like a twig. So all we can do now is give in Motrin for the pain & swelling, put ice on it (if he will let us) & it should slowly feel better.
Pray that the swelling goes down by the end of the week, otherwise we may have to get another x-ray to see if the swelling was holding something together.
