Camping

Last weekend we went camping with two other families (Melissa, Eddy & their girls & Heidi, Burt & their boys). We camped about 1/2 from home & we were able to set up our tent on Thursday night that way we could just enjoy Friday night. Once we got there we had grilled dinner & let the kids run around, ride there bikes & play. We had a camp site that was right next to the playground & the bathrooms so what more could you want.
Emmersyn was also surprised to see one of her (pre)school friends was camping right around the campground. So she & Tylar, along with Rylie where here there & everywhere on their bikes. While Bryceton, Tayden (who hung out with both the boys & the bigger girls), Elijah & Isiah all road their bikes around & played.
Saturday was great, the weather was in the low to mid 70's & overcast. Which made camping very enjoyable. We just mainly sat around camp talking, & having fun. On Saturday evening is when we planned to have our big meal which was Steaks, potatoes, garlic green beans, corn on the cob, salad & bread. We ate like kings & everything was wonderful (Thanks Matt for cooking all the food over the open fire). After that we sat around until it got dark enough for the kids to do some sparklers & then we also had made room for some s'mores.

By 10 o'clock we parents put all six kids to bed that way we could enjoy the last night camping. Early on the decision was made that no one was taking any firewood home with them. So Matt & Eddy decided that this was the time to get it all burned up. We were having a lot of fun just talking a laughing (thanks Heidi). At times the fire was taller than Matt was & when it started dieing down the guys went looking around for any more twigs or branches to throw on it. Around 3:30 am we decided to call it a night & head to bed since we did have to pack everything up in the morning.
Can't wait until another camping trip or bonfire.

10 years ago today....

Matt & I said "I Do" about the same time that we became Aunt & Uncle for the 1st time.

Time flies when your having fun... 10 years, 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2nd house later & we still love each other as much as we did back then (at least most of the time).

We have been through so many adventures together, made many great memories & plan to make so many more.
Matthias, Emmersyn & Bryceton

Matthias "Happy 10th Birthday", you were such a wonderful surprise on our wedding day & I am so happy to share this day with you. I hope you have a great day. We love you!

A day at the beach

Here are some pics from when we went to Big Creek beach north of Des Moines.

It was a beautiful day & sitting in the sun felt great.
We made a small sand castle & the kids took turns getting buried in the sand.

The water wasn't to bad either, but I am still not a big pond swimmer (I like to see whats at my feet). I did get in the water with the kids & we all had a lot of fun

We all cant wait until we have another day at the beach.

Happy 4th of July

I wanted to send you all a "Happy 4th of July"

So far this holiday weekend we have watched fireworks (More to come tonight, too), watched a two hour parade & visited Lindsay's family in the ICU waiting room. Tonight we will make our way to two parties & will have a fund time with friends.

I hope you are all able to spend your holiday close with the ones you love (even if it is not how you planned it).
Have a very safe holiday.

Lindsay's Fight

Everyone, I am asking you to pray for a friend & her family.
Last night around 8 pm my good friend Heather (www.hamiltonfamilycircus.blogspot.com) got a call stating her younger sister Lindsay was in a horrific accident.
She was pinned between a loading dock & a semi. She has made it through her 1st surgery & will have another probably Saturday morning.
You can keep up with her progress at www.butchsfight.blogspot.com
Pray for Lindsay, her husband Tim & their little one Landon, along with the all the family & friends tonight at a prayer service at the Bondurant Christian Church 6:00 pm.
