Field Trips

Emmersyn had a field trip to the apple orchard/ pumpkin patch on the 23rd & Bryceton had a field trip on the 25th to a different pumpkin patch. I was lucky enough to attend both field trips & had a lot of fun with both classes.

Oct 23
This was the first time Emmersyn went on a field trip without Bryce tagging along (since we can't leave him home alone) so this was a new experience. Bryce wasn't sure when he heard Emma was going to a pumpkin patch without him, but mommy still got to go. Emmersyn enjoyed having just me along. We rode the bus about 30 minutes before we got the to apple orchard. The entire class had a lot of fun. Everyone got to run through a time machine that took us back 100 years so we got to go to a one room school house. The we all got to throw apples to the elk, sign to the pig & laugh at the turkeys & chickens. The kids also were allowed to pick a couple gourds & a couple of apples. It was a lot of fun, but it wore me out.

Oct 25
This we Bryce's 1st field trip without Emma. We drove out the the pumpkin patch about 10 minutes away (which as Bryce said it was taking forever). There we got to ride the hayride to pick out two pumpkin or gourds. Bryce first wanted to pick out the biggest ones he could find. I did have to remind him that mommy had to carry them back to the hayride so keep them some what small. Then he decided that he wanted to find a clean on since most of the ones he found were all dirty (I wouldn't know why, they just grow on the ground.) After telling him that he wouldn't find a clean one he finally settled on two pumpkins. After that they got to play around the farm. on the hay bale train, in the corn & the hay itself. As some of the other moms there stated that we were actually giving the kids permission to "roll in the hay" this was on of Bryce's favorite spots & this is were we finished the trip.

Both kids enjoyed there field trips & I enjoyed the individual time I got to spend with both of them too.

"Flying By"

This past weekend my cousin Mike & his wife Nikki along with there 2 kids Chase & Abby came up from the St.Louis area. They came up to support Nikki's cousin who was running in the Des Moines Marathon. Since they made the trip up to visit the Des Moines area my brother & his family made the trip down here to see them.

I worked at Kohl's on Friday night which I didn't miss much since Mike's gang didn't get into town until 9:30 pm-10 o'clock.
Saturday we were sure what all my cousins, parents, bother & we were all doing so Matt, the kids & I headed over to my parents to find out. Everyone was going to head over to my house that way I could take Matt home so he could get to work by 11:30, once we got there we decide that since my brother has his pilot licence that he could take everyone up for a ride.

Down to Knoxville it is...mind you that Derik has had his licence for a while now & this will be my 1st trip up with him.
When we got there he was up in the air with Mike & Matthias, then Nikki , Chase & Abby had their flight.

Emma, Bryce & I had our turn next. Bryce wasn't sure if he wanted to go once he was strapped in, I told him things would be fine & they were it was just a new experience. Emma was very excited to go up in the plane, the headset was just a little big. Once up in the air the kids & I loved it so it was worth the 5 minutes of crying we listened to on take off.

The last flight was with my mom, dad & Issac. Jamie still wont fly... but Derik finally got my mom up there. Little steps right!

Derik is a great pilot & I would let him pilot for me anytime, but after this weekend Derik now owes Matt a flight sometime since of course he worked & the kids & I got to go up.
Thanks for taking us all up Derik.

Saturday after all the flying we headed back to my house to let the kids run & play & we ordered pizza. Good friends joined us so we had an evening of peel & eat shrimp & pizza. What a night.

Wine Fest 07

Matt & I made our annual trip down to Hermann, MO for the annual Oktoberfest celebration. This year we were excited to take my Sister Danielle & her boyfriend Chris with us. Once we were down there we went shopping at the Warrenton, MO outlet mall until the rest of our party was there. Then we checked into the Bed & Breakfast where we were lucky enough to get the "house" which was a 5 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen & living room. There ended up only being 4 couples, it was still worth the cost.

Friday night once everyone got into town we headed off to a local restaurant then back to the b&b for the bon-fire & of course some drinks. The bon-fire wasn't as fun as it had been in the past since it was almost 85 degrees at 10pm at night, but the drinks were cold.

Saturday off to the wineries we only ended up going to 3 of them since we got somewhat of a late start. We still made our way down the hill to the Hermannoff winery by 1pm. The party was all ready started & we all just joined in. Once settled the women decided to split from the men & visit the local antique shops. Not much money was spent shopping in these shops but we did have a lot of fun just girl talking. We met back up with the men around 5:30 or so that way we could get to out dinner reservations by 6:30 at yet another winery. Back to the house to play some games of Goof & Apples to Apples. Another late night.

Sunday we headed for home of course stopping a the outlet mall within an hour of home & doing a little Christmas shopping.

The entire weekend was a lot of fun & pretty relaxing. Just what Matt & I needed.
"To Another Great Year"

Bryceton's Bam Bam Ball

Bryceton was very excited when we told him he was old enough to play Bam Bam ball this fall. So we signed him up & he was ready to play.

The games were every Tuesday & Saturday morning in September so we keep busy since Emmersyn also has her dance class every Tuesday. Yet I have the feeling that this is only the begining of us having to be in two places at once.
Bryce was on the Bedrocks he was jersey #4. A good friends of our were one of the teams coaches, Matt & I also got to help out by being base coaches. Emmersyn even stepped into the base coach position to help cheer her bothers team on.
At the end of the month at their last game all the teams had a little reward ceremony & each player received a trophy that had their name , team & year printed on it. Bryce was so excited to finally get a trophy like Emmersyn's.

It's a Party

On the 16th we held Bryce's birthday party with both family & friends. Bryce picked out the "Cars" theme & enjoyed having all the visitors over to play. I think we counted a total of 36 people (14 of them kids)were helping us celebrate with cake, ice cream & punch. One of Bryce's favorite parts of the "Cars" movie is the Tractor Tipping so I found a toy car set with that scene & had them put it on the cake, I think it turned out great. The kids enjoyed playing in our playroom, helping Bryce open presents & don't for get the pinata. Once the goodies bags were handed out they all seem to be in an energetic mood. The party was a big success & the adults were just as tired as the kids were.

Thanks to everyone that helped us celebrate.

Celebration with Grammi Ammi

As you know Bryce turned three on in September. So the week before his birthday we were treated to a night at Chuck-E-Cheese for some pizza and games. Since Grammi Ammi (Matt's mom) wasn't going to be in town for his party she thought this was the next best thing (which he hasn't stop talking about all the fun. )We were also joined by Matt's brother Ben & his girlfriend Tara. The kids really enjoyed spending time with them since we don't get to see them as much as we would like. We all had a lot of fun, the kids both got to pick out some prizes with their tickets & of course we got to come home with some cotton candy. I don't know who was more worn out the adults of the kids, we were all ready for bed when we left.

I'm Back!!!

Hello Internet,

I know it has been a while & I plan to get you all caught up on the happenings of the Forest family. The goal is to update you by the weekend so sit back over the next few days & rewind over the last month or so. Thanks for being so patient.
