School Project

Emmersyn came home from school two weeks ago with a letter people project sheet. We had to choose one thing to do & then today the 22nd they would have Celebration (since they are done with letter people) with the projects. We had to choose from: 1. Make a mobile, 2. Dress like your letter person, 3. bring a collection to show. Emmersyn's letter person was "Mrs. S." with her silly stripes. What to choose? What to choose?

Emma couldn't choose just one, so she decided on making a mobile & to bring a collection.

We had her start making a list of "S" things that she could bring, then we went on a scavenger hunt around the house to find the items. She came up with a whole suit caseful.

We also went through old magazines to find pictures of "S" items for the mobile. Emmersyn cut all the pictures out & glued them to a white sheet of paper then punched holes for the string to go through. After she went to bed I tied all the string to create the mobile.

As you can see, she did end up dressing like "Mrs. S" with her silly stripes too!

This morning Bryce & I helped her get everything to her classroom. That is where she found out that her collection was a little to big so she had to pick & choose her favorites to share with the class. We brought home the rest that way Emma didn't have to worry about bringing everything home this afternoon.
As I told her teacher you gave Emmersyn a project & she did the project to the fullest of her ability (hopefully this logic stays with her for a while through school)

I have been asked by many family & friends why they can't post a comment on our family website....so I talked to a friend about how I can change this & it has now been changed.

You are all able to now leave a comment/note if you would like. I would love to hear from all of you just so I know who is visiting & keeping up with us.

I hope you all enjoy.

Doing his part!!!

Since we painted his room I wanted to hang the pictures in frames that went with the new colors. So after we dropped Emma off at school on Monday Bryce & I were on a misson to find some frames & to pick out a paint color. We bought the 10 frames & paint. Then we came home & sanded them down so we could paint them the dark royal blue.

Since this was for Bryce's room I decided to let Bryce do the painting, & boy was he proud of the work he did. I touched up a few spots, but for the most part it is all his handy work. Last night Matt & I put the pictures/art work inside the frames & Matt hung them while I was at a meeting.

The pictures include the 4 Nascar prints (drivers as toddlers) with older visions in background. Which he had up in his room & now they have been revamped

Then we created some new art work with the wall stickers. I bought the stickers a while ago, but I wasn't going to up them on the wall, since we had a bad experience with them at our old house. So this is what we came up with.

Then the last frame he painted was for his "Birth-day" memoramdiom which has stats from the day & year he was born. Which Matt hung above Bryceton's bed.

We also hung the two "Cars" prints that I bought for him last year which now Bryceton's room is complete & we are able to change it out as he grow or as his intrests change. I think his room looks awesome & he likes to show it off when anyone stops by. He is very proud of it.

The "Snowball" effect

It all started a week ago (Sat Feb 9), we upgraded some things in our living room.

And then it rolled....

I decided since things were getting moved a little bit that we should paint. So Saturday night we stopped to pick up some paint color samples & the decission was made. Sunday after church (10:30) we went back and bought the paint & a few supplies. We had the room emptied, taped, painted & everything back in it place by 3:30 pm. Since Matt & Emmersyn had the father/daughter dance that night we hung all the pictures on Monday.

Once that was finished Bryce reailized something... when we painted Emmersyn's room last spring we told him that his room would be the next room we painted. Opps, we forgot.

And it is still rolling.....

So this past Friday night we went out & color matched his bed comforter. We had his room empited & taped off by 10 pm. Saturday morning we went right to work 1st the stripe, then the bottom color then the top. This room took a little longer since we were doing 3 different colors on each wall, but we were still done by 2 pm. I had to work on Saturday night so Matt did all the touch-ups that needed done. Sunday during the snow storm Matt & I got the room back together & all is now good. All the pictures should be up by tonight.

What a difference day makes.

Date with Daddy 08

The day had finally came, Emmersyn has been waiting all year for this event & it arrived. She had a countdown going for the past week.

Our Church's 2nd annual Father/Daughter dance, she & Matt went last year & she loveded her date with daddy. We bought tickets for the dance a couple of weeks ago & last week Matt received the formal invitation, along with the picture coupon.

Emmersyn couldn't wait until it was time to get ready for the dance. She got a new dress & sweater, along with Matt he got a matching new tie. We put her hair in curlers & waited until two hours before the dance to get the dress on , style her hair & of course the "make-up" (blush, lip gloss & perfume). Matt got all dressed up in his suit, pink dress shirt & tie.

Emmersyn & Matt went out to eat at Applebees before the dance. Once they got to the chuch Emmersyn recieved her carsage & their picture was taken (coming soon). They also enjoyed deserts, playing games & the company of father/daughter friends.

Emma said she likes to dance with daddy, by standing on his feet. Matt said she did plenty of dance on her own too. The twirls, spins & twists made last night a wonderful memory for both Matt & Emmersyn.
They do make such a cute couple, don't they

A Very Late Congrats!!

This happened in a very busy time around my house so it did not get the proper announcement at the time, but now its time.

My younger sister Danielle got engaged over the holidays & I am very excited for her & Chris. They make such a cute couple. A September 6th 2008 date has been set & now Danielle gets to enjoy all the "Bride-to-be" activites which I will gladly join in with helping to plan the event.

It's been so much fun watching you both grow in you relationship with each other & to watch your love grow. Chris has felt like family from the start, he has blended in quite nicely (almost scary like considering the family).

Congratulations & We Love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday, Matt!!!

Another day for an adult, but today was "Daddy's Birthday" for the kids. Emmersyn woke up after Matt was at work & noticed that we hadn't got himanything for Matt's Birthday. So off to the store I went after I dropped the kids off at school off to Target to get what Emmersyn told me Daddy would like. Emma wanted me to get the DVD Disney's "The Game Plan" for Him, she & Matt rented it last Friday night while I was at work. I did make a cheese cake for Matt. Emmersyn & Bryceton wrapped his gift & made him cards. The kids were so excited to help daddy celebrate his birthday & made sure we sang Happy Birthday & that he had a candle to blow out.

Not Again

It's snowing yet again. I am very tired of snow & cold (ok, winter). Schools are letting out early & just when we were able to see the grass in the front yard. God decided to share some more with us. I'm thinking warm thought & I figured if I could get as many people to think warm thoughts with me it might just work, so think really hard!!!!!

Good luck to all!

A week of yuck

Well that easily explains all of last week for the family. Bryceton started complaining on Saturday that his ear was hurting. We figured it was an ear infection & we would get it taken care of on Monday. Then on Sunday morning his left eye started to goop he still acted fine, just not wanting to eat & so I was planning to take him on monday for a check up anyway. Well then Monday morning he woke up with both eyes matted shut from all that goop (remember), and now his nose was running like a faucet. So I got him an appointment which there we found out that he a a kind of conjuctionites???? (a combination of ear, eye, nose & throat infections) which happens to be going around right now. So off to get him some medicine to help make everyones life a little easier. Right?
Everything was fine on Tuesday (I still kept him home from school), then after dinner on tuesday night he go sick, maybe it was the cooking? Well the fun was just starting ...... Wednesday he woke up with the runs & all the joys that come with that. All day we tackled laudry, baths, scrubbing the floor & trying to "get him to the bathroom in time". So Wednesday was a long day which lead to an even longer night. That night he & I enjoyed each other comapny in between him getting sick all over the bed, chair & myself. Thursday morning around 4 am I called our Dr's after hours line & let them know that something was still not right. By 9 am Bryce had a different type of medicine & seemed to be perking up a bit.
That was our adventure last week & so far everyone is healthy this week so we will keep our fingers crossed.
